Monet--Woman with a Parasol This title is one in a series presenting four masterpieces by four immortal French impressionist painters. Each miniature book faithfully reproduces its title painting on the front cover, and is packaged in a handsome slipcase that doubles as a picture frame. The frame can stand up on a desk or tabletop or be hung on the wall to display the book cover's striking painting. Each book's interior discusses its title painting, describing the artist's approach to his work, analyzing the picture's fine points, and showing close-up details from the painting. A final two-page spread presents a timeline capsule biography that lists significant events in the painter's life. "Monet--Woman with a Parasol, shows and discusses Claude Monet's techniques as he captures his subject dramatically from a low-angle perspective. David Lean Collection, The (Widescreen) The Bridge On The River Kwai: When British POWs build a vital railway bridge in enemy-occupied Burma, Allied commandos are assigned to destroy it in David Lean's epic World War II adventure "The Bridge On The River Kwai." Spectacularly produced, "The Bridge On The River Kwai" captured the imagination of the public and won seven 1957 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Alec Guinness), and Best Director. "The Bridge On The River Kwai" continues today as one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of all time. "A Passage To India": Set in 1928, this film portrays an indelibly sardonic picture of British life in territorial India. The story concerns Adela Quested, who is a free-spirited British woman, played by (Judy Davis), who has settled in India and is to marry Ronny Heaslop (Nigel Havers), a town magistrate. She is befriended by the charming Dr. Aziz (Victor Banerjee), but it's a friendship that ultimately leads to tragedy. "Lawrence Of Arabia (Restored Version)": David Lean's splendid biography of the enigmatic T. E. Lawrence paints a complex portrait of the desert-loving Englishman who united Arab tribes in a battle against the Ottoman Turks during World War I.
